The band has gone through many members, and todays group consists of three of the original musicians. Once upon a time, while playing at Juniors Tavern in 1983, we were asked to play ’Satin Doll’. We grudgingly complied, but Ralph the guitarist was angry. He turned his amp to eleven, and screamed through the tune. We all followed suit. Thus was born GNP. We play our original tunes without abandon, bordering often on avant garde, yet tight melodies and segues keep the band sounding tight and interesting. We are loud, then soft, moody, then rockin’, melodic, then outside. And we always play the songs differently. Improvisation is very important to us.
